Rangeland Management

The McKnight Ranch employs an aggressive rangeland management strategy to enhance grass quality and ultimately improve cattle nutrition. In addition to grubbing mesquite trees with a bulldozer, the ranch also uses nature's great philosopher &emdash; fire. The following pictures illustrate the steps of a controlled burn in 2006. The final picture was taken one year after the burn.
